Scarlett Canyon

This painting is part of an ongoing series of works that I call “Hidden Wonders”. I began to experiment with ways of painting that utilize chance derived elements and found that fractal patterns could be organically created. As I gazed into the patterns I began to see a multitude of organic forms appear before my eyes. I began painting the spaces in-between the complex network of fractal patterns. Strange and surreal landscapes emerged as I let the patterns and forms derived by chance dictate to me the forms and content of each piece.
In this painting a warm and richly colored canyon stretches out before you in this fantasy landscape. It appears an amber light bathes the sharp twists and turns of  the canyon.
